Dr. Preethaa Ganesh, the daughter of Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, has propelled Vels Group of Institutions to new heights with her innovative leadership. Growing up in a family dedicated to education, she witnessed firsthand the transformative power of learning, shaping her passion for fostering academic excellence and social change.
A graduate of the London School of Economics, Dr. Preethaa brings a global perspective to her role as Vice President. Under her guidance, Vels Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) achieved outstanding rankings from QS I-GAUGE and earned a prestigious NAAC A++ accreditation. These accolades highlight VISTAS’ commitment to top-tier education and its thriving academic environment.
Dr. Preethaa has championed digital innovation, introducing a lecture recording system to enhance learning flexibility at VISTAS. She also launched a dual-degree MBA program with INTI International University, Malaysia, offering students global exposure at an affordable cost.
Her leadership extends to promoting inclusivity and student development. By removing the dress code for female students and launching the “Salute” alumni program, she fosters a more open, connected, and empowering campus culture. The Nakshatra cultural fest, also introduced under her leadership, encourages creativity, teamwork, and leadership among students.
Dr. Preethaa has led the expansion of Vels Group to 52 institutions across India, Singapore, and the UK, serving 48,000 students and employing 7,700 staff. She also introduced a franchisee network to extend Vels’ educational excellence globally.
Her social initiatives are equally impactful, with scholarships for economically disadvantaged students, transgender students, and Sri Lankan refugees. Dr. Preethaa also empowers women entrepreneurs through the annual “V-Fund” project, providing financial support for their business ventures.
